Jammu: Questioning the murder case registered against the Army in the Shopian killings, the BJP demanded in the Assembly that the case and the FIR should be withdrawn.
“The government should withdraw the FIR against the Army personnel and lodge a fresh FIR without naming anybody,” BJP’s RS Pathania said while speaking in the Assembly.
He added, “Why were serious charges levelled against the army? The criminal justice system doesn’t work under pulls and pressures.”
Two youth, Javed Ahmad Bhat and Suhail Javed Lone – were shot dead by army in Ganowpora village of Shopian on Saturday. The state government has ordered magisterial probe into the incident. Police has registered a case of Murder, Attempt to Murder against the Army.
Earlier National Conference demanded that all the Army men involved in the incident should arrested.
“The government should arrest all the army personnel named in the FIR,” said Ali Mohammad Sagar said while speaking in the Assembly during the discussion on Shopian killings.
