At Ajmer, Mehbooba prays for ‘peace, prosperity, progress of all the people of JK’

Srinagar: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti visited the shrine of Hazart Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti in Ajmer and prayed for ‘peace, prosperity and progress for all the people of Jammu & Kashmir.’

In a tweet, Mehbooba said that she had returned to the Dargah to seek the blessings of the revered sufi saint.


Mehbooba’s visit to the Dargah comes days after two major attacks took place in the state.

Ten people, including six soldiers, a civilian and three attackers, were killed in Sunjuwan army base attack in Jammu. Three people, including two militants and a CRPF man, were killed in Karan Nagar attack.

Moreover, there was a controversy regarded the Jammu attack when Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi who had questioned the silence over the killing of ‘Muslim Army men in the Jammu attack.’

However, the Army in its rebuttal to Owaisi had said that people who don’t know the Army well, make such statements and Army doesn’t communalise ‘martyrs.’
