Srinagar: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Friday expressed shock over the rally taken out by the Hindu Ekta Munch in support of the accused arrested in the rape and murder of the minor Kathua girl.
She also added that that by raising the tricolour in the rally, they have ‘desecrated’ it.
Taking to micro-blogging network twitter, Mehbooba wrote:
Appalled by the marches & protests in defense of the recently apprehended rapist in Kathua. Also horrified by their use of our national flag in these demonstrations, this is nothing short of desecration. The accused has been arrested & the law will follow its course.

An SPO (Special Police Officer) Deepak Khajuria, who was among the one tasked to find the girl when she went missing, was arrested on charges of raping and murdering her.
