Kashmir is part of Pakistan, says Imam-e-Kaaba in Islamabad

Imam-e-Kaaba, the leader of prayer at the Makkah, the holy place of Muslims, Dr Saleh bin Muhammad Al Talib met Pakistan’s Speaker of National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Monday and said that Pakistan has a significant place in the Muslim world.

While talking about the Kashmir issue, the Imam said he considers Kashmir a part of Pakistan. “I always remember the innocent people of Kashmir in my prayers, Dr Al Talib was quoted by Pakistan based The Express Tribune as saying.

He lauded Pakistan’s role in maintaining peace in the region and the country’s commitment to eradicate the menace of terrorism and extremism from the country and beyond.

During meeting with Imam-e-Kaaba President Mamnoon Hussain proposed a system for the rehabilitation and support of people suffering due to unrest and instability in different parts of the Islamic world and said the whole Muslim Ummah, including Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, should work actively in that regard. He also called for steps to counter Islamophobia.

The president underscored that Islamophobia had emerged in the world during the last few years, which needed to be countered. He said that he was pleased that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were working together to eliminate the misperceptions against Islam, he added.
