Shia community pays tributes to militants killed in Khonmoh, ‘Hussaini Majlis’ to be held on Sunday

Srinagar: The Shia community of Balhama area of Khonmoh paid glowing tributes to two militants killed in a gun fight on Thursday in the area.

While paying their respects at the Imam Bargah of Balhama, the speakers urged the international community to intervene and stop the bloodshed in Kashmir.

“Thousands of youth have sacrificed their lives for Kashmir cause and we should stand steadfast so that their sacrifices are taken to the logical end,” they said.

Moreover, a Hussaini Majlis (a religious congregation) will be held on Sunday, at Imam Bargah Balhama to pay tributes to the slain militants who got killed in Balhama encounter.

The speakers further requested all the people present to raise funds for the families whose houses got damaged in the gunfight.

The two militants killed in an overnight gunfight with the government forces in Khonmoh area on the outskirts of Srinagar have been identified as Owais Ahmad of Tral and Shabir Ahmad of Aghanzipora.

According to the police both were associated with Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.

Meanwhile thousands of people on Friday participated in the last rites of Shabir Ahmad at his native Aghanizipora village in Awantipora.
