Photo of TeH Chief Sehrai’s ‘missing’ son surfaces holding arms

A photo of the son of new Tehreek-e-Hurriyat chairman Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, who had gone missing since Friday afternoon has surfaced. The photo and reports from credible sources suggest that Sehrai’s son, Junaid, has joined the militant group Hizb.

Earlier, the City Police Chief, Imtiyaz Ismail, had confirmed that they had received a complaint from the Sehrai family.

“We have taken the complaint and we are looking into it,” the officer told Kashmir Life.

Sources close to Sehrai family said, Junaid Ashraf Khan, left for Friday prayers near his house in Baghat locality and has not returned since. The family waited for his return but when he did not reach home, they approached the police.

Sehrai took over the leadership of the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, last week from Syed Ali Geelani. The two have been close associates for more than last six decades.

In an interview with the Greater Kashmir, Sehrai had said that ISIS/Daesh and such ideologies will never be accepted.

“Daesh and Al-Qaeda have nothing to do with our movement and we will never accept them,” Sehrai said. He urged youth not to get swayed by the extremist ideology and understand Islam in its correct perspective.

Sehrai, while expressing concern over the raising of ISIS flags during the funeral of Eisa Fazili, said that TeH will chart out a plan to stop them after their elections.
