We haven’t called for any shutdown on Friday, says KTMF

Srinagar: The Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) on Wednesday said that the federation has not called for any strike on Friday.

The statement comes after some rumours were circulated about a shutdown to be observed across Kashmir on Friday against the killings in Shopian.

However, KTMF, in a statement clarified that no such call his been given from their side.

The Joint Resistance Leadership had called for a march towards Shopian to express solidarity with the bereaved families who lost their loved ones during the gun fights in Shopian. However, Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was detained after he tried to defy his house arrest. He was lodged in the Nigeen Police station.

Syed Ali Geelani was also barred from leaving his residence by the police after he tried to march towards Shopian.
