GMC students protest against recent killings in Kashmir

Srinagar: Students of the Government Medical College of Srinagar held a protest on Friday in the campus lawns against the recent killings in Shopian.

The students protested against the killings, unending pellet horror, use of human shields, firing into hospitals and stopping of ambulances, witnesses said.

They expressed solidarity with students who were allegedly thrashed and assaulted by forces during the clashes which erupted across Kashmir on Thursday. Holding placards, the apron-donning students recited poetry and raised slogans.

The JRL resolution was also adopted at the gathering, witnesses said.

They were also joined by the doctors who demanded an end to the use of deadly pellets.

“We condemn the use of pellets, we can’t stand the heart wrenching sight of pellet hit youth who are brought here for treatment,” said one of a doctor.
