BJP ministers told to resign from Mehbooba’s government: Report

Just days after two BJP Ministers, Chowdhary Lal Singh and Chander Prakash Ganga resigned after they rallied in support of the accused in the Kathua rape and murder case, BJP ministers in the Mehbooba Mufti government have sent their resignations to the party to prep for a reshuffle that has been on the cards for some time, reported NDTV.

Sources have told the news channel that the ministers had been told to send across their resignations at meetings held last week by BJP strategist Ram Madhav when he was in Jammu to iron out differences between the BJP and PDP.

However, there is no threat to the alliance, a source told the news channel.

Earlier, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had given the additional charge of Industries and Commerce, Forest, Ecology and Environment, the portfolios held by Ganga and Lal Singh.

Senior Journalist Barkha Dutt also tweeted that the Alliance between the PDP and the BJP might come to an end.
