Kathua rape-murder: Accused are in jail, trial is on, why are you protesting, Akhtar asks students

Naeem Akhtar, the Works Minister of Jammu and Kashmir has asked the students protesting against the Kathua rape and murder case that when the accused have been arrested and the trial is on, what is that they are protesting for.

Akhtar, while replying to a tweet said that students should be attending classes.

In a tweet, journalist Mufti Islah had said that ‘government must realise that Kashmiri students demanding justice for 8 year old girl gangraped and murdered must not be thrashed and humiliated and those supporting rape accused be escorted. Sends out message that remote is held by others but not CM who also is home minister.’

In reply, the works minister said:

The student protests are not stopping despite government ordering the shutdown of educational institutions. On Thursday, around 14 people, including students were injured in clashes in Shopian district.
