In third blast of the day, 11 seminary students killed, 5 Romanian soldiers injured in Khandhar

In a third bomb blast in a day, At least 11 students of an Islamic seminary were killed including 16 other people in a car bombing in the Southren Khandhar district of Afghanistan on Monday.

According to a report in TOLO news, five Romanian solders were also wounded in the bombing.

According to officials the explosion took place at about 11 am local time in Haji Abdullah Khan village of Daman district when a suicide bomber detonated a vehicle full of explosives. The target had been a Romanian troops convoy that had been patrolling the area.

Kandahar media office deputy spokesman Matiullah said that at least 11 students at a Madrassa close to the scene of the explosion were killed in the bombing. So far no group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Earlier, at least seven journalists were killed in two bombing in the Shashdarak area of Kabul city in Afganistan when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives, reported the TOLO news.

An explosion had taken place at the very same spot earlier at around 8 in the morning. When the first responders and journalists arrived at the spot, the second blast took place. In the blast, the chief photographer of AFP in Kabul bureau Shah Marai was among those killed.
