Are Muslims in Kashmir pressurising Sikhs to ‘leave Kashmir’? Fake News news on social media is from 2014

The video shot by activist Angad Singh in 2014 was about a land dispute

A video clip is doing rounds on social media, where a Sikh man is seen as saying that “we are being pressurised”. The clip is being circulated with the heading, “Muslims are pressuring and harrassing Sikh community living in kashmir to move out of valley”.

The video on the profile that shared it has over 14,000 views and over 700 shares. The video is shared by one JP Singh, who has circulated it across multiple pages. One page by the name of Save Jammu, had shared the post from where it went viral.

The user also posted the same video with the heading, “Muslims are pressuring and harrassing Sikh community living in kashmir to move out of valley” in a group United Against Islamic Terror. The video has since then been shared in many groups and pages.

The Video is from 2014, taken by Sikh volunteers with help of Hurriyat members, regarding land dispute where a family was harassed by the land sharks. The land sharks appeared to have used a communal card to take over property.

Activist Angad Singh, who shot the video, says, “some agencies are actively working in Kashmir. The video being shared is of Shadimarg Sikhs, which I myself recorded from my phone camera in 2014, with the help of people and Hurriyat members. The issue was regarding a land dispute and was sought out within days.”
