GoI scraps baggage identification at JK airports, Mehbooba thanks Aviation Minister

The Government of India has scrapped the mandatory identification of baggage at the airports of Jammu and Kashmir.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu in a tweet while announcing the development added that the government remains committed in making the journey of passengers delightful and hassle-free.


Baggage identification after check-in was mandatory for passengers travelling out of Srinagar, Leh and Jammu airports due to security reasons.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday welcomed the Centre’s move of scrapping the mandatory baggage identification by the travelers at the airports in Jammu and Kashmir.
