Martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Imam Ali observed across Kashmir

Budgam: The martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali was observed with religious reverence across Kashmir to pay homage to his services and efforts for the cause of Islam and Muslim Ummah.

Ali was the cousin and the son-in-law of Muhammad, the last prophet of Islam. He ruled as the fourth caliph from 656 to 661, but he is regarded as the rightful immediate successor to prophet Muhammad by the Shia Muslims

Religious conferences were organized by socio-religious organization Anjuman Shari Shian in different parts of Kashmir particularly at Imambara Hasanabad and Imambara Budgam culminated on 21st day of Ramzan.

A big mourning conference was held at Imambara Budgam.

Speaking on this occasion senior resistance leader and President Anjuman Sahri Shian Agha Syed Hassan Almosvi Alsafvi threw light on the life and teachings of Ali and his contribution in Islam.

Agha Hassan while urging upon the people to follow the paths of Ali and the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) to maintain peace and brotherhood in the world said that Ali was well known for his great knowledge and played a great role in spreading Islam. Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) described himself as the city of knowledge and Ali as its gate.

He said Imam Ali is respected for his courage, knowledge, belief, honesty, unbending devotion to Islam, deep loyalty to Prophet Muhammad, equal treatment of all Muslims and generosity in forgiving his defeated enemies.
