Ummat-E-Islami calls for shutdown in South Kashmir on Qazi Nisar’s death anniversary

JKDFP remembers Islamic Scholar and Ummat-E-Islami Chief Qazi Nisar Ahmad

The Ummat e Islami (UI), on Monday, called for a complete shutdown in South Kashmir on the 24th death anniversary of slain Mirwaiz of South Kashmir, Dr. Qazi Nisar Ahmed.

Islamic Scholar and Ummat-E-Islami Chief Dr Qazi Nisar Ahmad was one of the founders of Muslim United Front (MUF) and was killed by unidentified gunmen in Dialgam village of Islamabad on June 19, 1994. In a press statement, the UI said that a rally will be also be taken out on Tuesday to commemorate the anniversary from Jamia Masjid, Islamabad at 1:30 pm.

Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) also paid rich and glowing tributes to Islamic Scholar and Ummat-E-Islami Chief, Dr. Qazi Nisar Ahmed on his 24th death anniversary.

Paying glowing tributes to the slain leader, a JKDF said that Dr Qazi Nisar was a great religious scholar and a patriot who always laid emphasis on the unity of Ummah. He said that the contribution of Qazi Nisar in the freedom movement is unparalleled. “He was among few who brought different political and religious parties, though sharing different ideologies but fighting for the cause of Muslims in the state on a single platform and the result was the creation of MUF.”

The JKDFP spokesperson vowed to take the mission of all “martyrs” to its logical conclusion.
