Observe shutdown tomorrow against the ‘planned genocide of Kashmiris’, says Joint Resistance

The Joint Resistance Leadership in a statement has said that the shutdown against the continuous civilian killings in the valley should be observed on Monday (June 25) instead on Tuesday.

Earlier, the JRL had said that a shutdown should be observed on Tuesday.

A civilian, identified as Yawar Ahmad Dar of Gassipora, was killed in forces’ action on protesters near the site of a gunfight in Kulgam on Sunday while a youth injured during clashes on Friday in Anantnag succumbed at SKIMS Soura.

The leadership in a statement, asked people to observe shutdown tomorrow over the re-starting of “operation All-Out” and cordon-and-search-operations with full “vengeance” against the people of Kashmir, especially in south Kashmir, which has resulted in the killing of four innocent civilians in firing by “trigger-happy forces”.

“JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik has called for a complete shutdown against the planned genocide of Kashmiri youth by the Indian State on June 25 (Monday),” said the statement.
