Cellular services for the public restored as Govt finishes celebrating Independence Day of India

Srinagar: The government has restored cellular services which were suspended since early morning today in the wake of the Independence Day of India functions in Kashmir.

However, the mobile internet services continue to remain barred throughout the Valley.

Meanwhile, Kashmir woke up to heavily militarized streets on the morning of the Indian Independence Day. The valley is observing a complete shutdown called by the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) against the Independence Day of India celebrations.

All shops, business establishments remained closed as private and public traffic remained off the roads in Srinagar and other districts of the Valley, when reports last came.

In view of the Independence Day functions armed forces have been deployed in strength through the length and breadth of the Valley.

Barricades have been erected on all roads leading to the main Independence Day parade venue at Sher-e-Kashmir stadium.
