In Tral, unidentified persons tried to set ablaze a Panchayat Building in the Seer area last night.
The cops said that two windows of the building were gutted in the incident. The police said that they are investigating the incident which took place a day after the state government announced the dates of panchayat polls.
Both the National Conference and the Peoples Democratic Party, the two biggest regional political outfits have decided to boycott the elections as they have asked the Government of India to clear its stand on the issue of Article 35-A.
