‘No internet’: KCCI asks govt to extend dates for filing GST by 10 days

Srinagar: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) in a letter to the Government of JK has said that dealers are not able to file their GST returns on time due to non availability or slow internet.

“The previous weeks have been disturbing due to the conduct of the Municipal Polls and other reasons,” KCCI in a letter wrote to BB Vyas, Adviser to the Governor.

The letter further pointed out that due to the non availability of internet, the government should extend the date of submission by at least 10 days.

” The requested should be done so that dealers are not penalized due to the uncertain situation prevailing in the state,” the letter said.

Internet services in ‘sensitive places’ were either shutdown or slowed down in wake of the recently concluded municipal polls in the state. Moreover, the services were shutdown in Srinagar after a gunfight took place in Fateh Kadal.
