Central University Kashmir students stage protest in Nowgam following detention of two colleagues by armed forces

Srinagar: Two post-graduate students of Central University Kashmir, Nowgam were detained by armed forces in a night raid on Friday, triggering a protest march by the students of the university today.

Students boycotted their classes and assembled in the campus to stage a protest, thereafter taking out a march towards Nowgam bypass. The students blocked the traffic.

The detained students were identified as two political science students, Suhail Ahmad from Shopian and Ismail Mohammad from Baramulla who had been detained by armed forces from their rented accommodation in Nowgam locality of the city outskirts.

The matter has been taken up with the district administration and police officials.
