Two civilians abducted by unidentified gunmen return home, one missing; Unidentified dead-body found in Shopian

Srinagar: Two civilians who were abducted, earlier on Saturday morning by unidentified gunmen, have reportedly returned home. According to reports, Shahid Ahmad Ganie, Farooq Ahmad – both residents of Saidpora Payeen, have returned.

There are no reports of the third abducted civilian, Huzaif Ahmad Kutay of Manzgam, when this report was filed.

According to a police official, unidentified gunmen abducted three civilians from a bakery in south Kashmir’s District Shopian. The official identified the abductees as Shahid Ahmad Ganie, Farooq Ahmad – both residents of Saidpora Payeen and Huzaif Ahmad Kutay of Manzgam.

Earlier, the Police Media Centre Friday issued a statement informing about the ‘abduction and killing of a civilian’ Nadeem Manzoor of Safanagri, Shopian by militants in Pulwama district.

“Terrorists in the intervened night forcibly abducted a civilian and later killed him in a brutal act of terror at Pulwama. Civilian has been identified as Nadeem Manzoor of Safanagri Shopian,” read the statement.

In an incident which as of now cannot be concretely tied to the abductions, an unidentified body was found in Shopian’s orchards.
