Light rain, snow likely to occur in state during next 48 hours, says MeT official

Srinagar: An incessant cold wave continued to sweep through the Kashmir Valley on Saturday, with light rains and snow likely to occur in the state, the Meteorological Department said, as per an IANS report.

“The minimum temperatures have marginally increased today (Saturday) due to cloud cover. Light rain and snow is likely to occur in the state during the next 48 hours,” an MeT official said, quoted in the report.

The minimum temperatures in Srinagar, Pahalgam and Gulmarg were minus 1.2 degrees Celsius, minus 3.7 and minus 6, respectively, the report stated.

Leh town recorded minus 6.6 degrees Celsius while it was minus 11.4 in Kargil.

Jammu city recorded 7.7 degrees Celsius, Katra 8.2, Batote 4.1, Bannihal 1.9 and Bhaderwah 0.8 as the night’s lowest temperatures.
