GoI, IG Prisons served notice by Delhi HC over solitary confinement of DeM chief Andrabi, associates

The government of India and the IG Prisons was served a notice by the Delhi High Court over the solitary confinement of  Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief Asiya Andrabi, Sofi Fehmeeda and Naheeda Nasreen.

The petition states that the solitary confinement is the violation of their human rights, reported the ANI.

The trio are under the custody of National Investigating Agency over alleged ‘terror fund’ charges.

India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) on November 14 filed a charge sheet against Aasiya Andrabi, Sofi Fehmeeda & Naheeda Nasreen in the Court of Special Judge, NIA, Patiala House, New Delhi.

The chargesheet read that Andrabi and her associates were involved in “Anti-India activities and has been inciting the general populace of Kashmir for an armed rebellion against the Government of India with aid and assistance of terrorist organizations based in Pakistan.”

The National Investigation agency (NIA) justified its charges of ‘terror acts’ against Andrabi based on mostly her social media posts and media interviews, reported the  Indian Express.
