IED planted on Bandipora-Srinagar highway defused, says Army

Srinagar: An IED planted near Garoora village on Bandipora-Srinagar highway in north Kashmir was defused by the armed forces on Thursday.

An official said that the IED was spotted by a road opening party of Army’s 13 RR unit around 8 am. It was said that the IED was planted inside a metal container which was spotted by the road opening party and the Explosive Detective Dog (ED Dog).

“The IED was later defused by police’s bomb disposal squad, ” he said. Traffic movement on the highway was halted till the explosive was defused.
