Gunfight broke out between the militants and the armed forces in Tral area of Pulwama district on Thursday, police said.
In a tweet, the Jammu and Kashmir Police said:

Earlier, reports said that the gunfight broke out after the forces launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Gulshanpora area of Tral.“As the forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants opened fire, triggering a gunfight,” said an official.
Meanwhile, youth took to streets and staged protests as soon as the news of gunfight spread in the town. Forces resorted to aerial firing to disperse the protesters.
Meanwhile authorities have snapped the mobile internet services in Tral and Awantipora areas of the south Kashmir district.
