Three Army men wounded in ongoing Tral gunfight

Srinagar: In the ongoing gunfight in Tral, three army men have been wounded, police has said.

Munir Khan,  ADGP, Law and Order, Muneer Khan told the Greater Kashmir that three army men were wounded in the gunfight that broke out in Gulshanpora forests on Thursday.

They were rushed to a hospital for treatment, they said. Khan told GK that the operation is going on. “So far no body has been recovered,” he said.

Three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.

Earlier, a gunfight broke out after the forces launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Gulshanpora area of Tral.  Meanwhile, youth had taken to streets and staged protests as soon as the news of gunfight spread in the town. Forces resorted to aerial firing to disperse the protesters.

Authorities had snapped the mobile internet services in Tral and Awantipora areas of the south Kashmir district.
