Chinese President Xi Jinping while addressing the country’s forces told them to ‘continue strengthening their combat preparedness and to make sure they are always ready for battle’, reported China Daily.
Xi delivered an address on Friday to the Central Military Commission — under his control — and urged the troops to boost strategic and tactical planning as well as improve their joint operational capability and readiness to respond to emergencies.
Xi urged the military to be fully aware of the nation’s security and development trends, to strengthen troops’ awareness of crisis, challenges and combat, and to make solid and comprehensive preparations for military operations, the report said.
“The People’s Liberation Army and Armed Police Force must focus on improving their combat capability and whatever they do must be for the betterment of their combat readiness, Xi said.
Xi also signed his first military order of 2019, giving priority to improving training, with special focus on preparing for combat, drills, inspection of troops and endurance exercises, according to state television CCTV.
