Withdrawal of security is only a pressure tactic from BJP, Khan said

Security has been withdrawn from Khan’s Church Lane residence

Kupwara: In a fresh move on part of the Government, security from former Minister Abdul Haq Khan’s Church Lane residence has been withdrawn.

Reports said that Government has withdrawn security comprising local police and CRPF personnel from former Minister and People’s Democratic Party senior leader Abdul Haq Khan.

Khan has been the former law Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.

Khan said that the move of the Government has baffled him. He alleged the withdrawal of security is only a pressure tactic from BJP.

“If you withdraw security from senior mainstream politicians then nobody in future will dare to join politics,” Khan said adding that such tactics wont break his resolve and he would continue to work for the party.

Khan said, “I was surprised to know about the withdrawal of house guards from my Church Lane residence keeping in view the present vulnerable security scenario in Kashmir valley. I am a two time former MLA and a former minister but the government has withdrawn house guards from my Church Lane residence putting my security at risk.”

When contacted ADGP security Munir Ahmad Khan said, “We will look into the matter if former minister Abdul Haq Khan formally informs us.”

Pertinently, the security withdrawn is ‘Ministerial’ and Khan no longer holds the position.
