Omar takes a dig at Mehbooba’s ‘garbage’ comment: ‘With her they were honest, became garbage when they left’

Srinagar: National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah while taking a dig at Mehbooba Mufti’s ‘garbage’ statement said that the same people were honest, decent and hardworking’ when they were with her and when they left they became ‘garbage’.

In a tweet, Omar said:

While addressing her workers in Anantnag on the death anniversary of her father and PDP Founder Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Mehbooba said, “From this platform, I want to invite the youth of Jammu and Kashmir who are educated and interested in resolution of the Kashmir issue to come and join us…all the garbage in the party has gone out with the wind,” she said while referring to a spree of resignations of her party leaders.

Earlier, while addressing her workers in Bejbehara, Mehbooba said that she didn’t visit the family of a militant on her own but was invited. She added that she wanted to send across a message that the families of the militants shouldn’t be harassed.

“A girl was being harassed there, it was question of her honour. I thought my visit to the family would send a message to the government that if we have to fight the militants we don’t have to harass their families,” she said.
