‘Trying to recreate the Modi wave’: Twitterati makes fun of Modi waving at an empty Dal Lake amid shutdown

While the valley of Kashmir was under an undeclared curfew of sorts, with internet shut, and people house arrested, social media hit out at Narendra Modi for waving at an empty lake.

During his boat-ride in Dal Lake Narendra Modi posed for the camera, and the picture was made fun of, on social media for him “waving at nothing”.

Former J&K CM Omar Abdullah while sharing the video on Twitter where Modi can be seen waving during the boat ride in Dal Lake sarcastically remarked that the ‘camera man has done a disservice’.

“This camera person has done the Hon PM a huge disservice by not showing all the people furiously waving back because there is no way the PM would be waving at an empty lake,”  Former J&K CM Omar Abdullah tweeted sarcastically, while sharing a video on Twitter.

The Ex Chief Minister of J&K and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti also poked fun at the photo saying Modi was waving to ‘countless imaginary friends’ in Kashmir.

“Hope some migrant birds may have waved back,” wrote one netizen on twitter, while another one remarked, “waving at the lake trying to recreate the modi wave!”
