The Pakistan Navy has claimed that they detected an Indian submarine trying to enter Pakistani waters and successfully thwarted the attempt, reported the Dawn.

“The Pakistan Navy used its specialised skills to ward off the submarine, successfully keeping it from entering Pakistani waters,” a statement from the spokesperson said.

The report further added that this is the second time the Pakistan Navy has detected the Indian submarine trying to enter Pakistani waters since 2016.

According to the statement, the fact that an Indian submarine laden with modern technology was detected by the Pakistan Navy is a loss for the Indian navy.

Keeping the government’s initiative of peace in mind, the Indian submarine was not targetted by the Pakistan Navy, said the spokesperson.

Learning from this incident, India should also work towards peace, the statement added.

“This great feat is a testament of the Pakistan Navy’s superior skills. The Navy will keep defending Pakistan’s naval border. The force has the capability to respond to any aggression.”

Earlier, The Indian Navy chief Admiral Sunil Lanba warned about ‘militants being trained to carry out attacks even via sea route.’

“India, however, faces a far more serious version of terrorism — state-sponsored terrorism. You have all witnessed the horrific scale of the extremist attack in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir just three weeks ago,” he said.

“This violence was perpetrated by extremists aided and abetted by a state, which seeks to destabilise India,” said Lanba.
