Holding talks regarding Kartarpur corridor doesn’t mean resumption of bilateral ties with Pak, says GoI

The Government of India has said that holding talks regarding Kartarpur Corridor does not mean that bilateral talks have resumed with Pakistan.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs Raveesh Kumar said, “I would like to make it clear that holding #KartarpurCorridor talks doesn’t mean resumption of bilateral ties. This is related to the emotions and sentiments of our Indian citizens of Sikh faith.”

Kumar also added that ‘If Pakistan claims to be a ‘Naya Pakistan’ with ‘nayi soch’ then it should demonstrate ‘naya action’ against terrorist groups and cross border terrorism in support of its claims.

Earlier, he had said that India’s ‘non-military strike on JeM camp in Pakistan’ achieved its desired objective and demonstrated the country’s firm resolve to take decisive action against cross border “terrorism”.

However, according to a Reuters report, high resolution satellite images shows that the religious school run by Jaish-e-Mohammad still stands after India claimed that they hit the building and killed a large number of militants.

Earlier, India has said that they carried out a pre-dawn strike on a ‘militant camp’ across the Line of Control soon after Pakistan army said that Indian fighter jets were forced to leave after they crossed the LoC in Muzaffarabad sector.

Recently, Congress accused Modi of ‘politicizing terror’, and asked BJP to come clean on number of casualties caused due to the IAF strikes in Balakot, Pakistan.
