Police to use DNA profiling to identify militants killed during Tral gunfight

Srinagar: The two militants killed in the Tral gunfight are charred beyond recognition and police has said that they will take help of DNA profiling to identify them.

Two of them were killed in a gunfight in Pinglish area of Tral on Sunday night.

An official said the bodies of two militants charred beyond recognition were recovered from the site of the gunfight last night. Locals said the house in which the militants were hiding was razed to the ground by the forces.

He said their DNA samples have been taken to identify them.

Reports said that the father of Jaish commander Mudasir Khan and another family from Marhama are waiting outside the police station Tral where the bodies have been kept.

Earlier, the Army spokesperson in a statement said that that three militants have been killed in the gunfight.
