Weak Modi is scared of Xi, says Rahul after China blocks bid to declare JeM chief Azhar ‘global terrorist’

After China once against put a technical hold on the UNSC bid to declare JeM chief Masood Azhar a global terrorist, Congress President Rahul Gandhi has said that ‘Weak Modi is scared of Xi.’

Xi Jingping is the President of China.

In a tweet, Gandhi said:

In a setback to India, China once again put a technical hold on a proposal by the UN Security Council to designate Jaish-e-Mohammad Chief Masood Azhar as a ‘global terrorist’.

The proposal to designate Azhar under the 1267 Al Qaeda Sanctions Committee of the UN Security Council was moved by France, the UK and the US on February 27, days after a suicide bomber of the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) killed 44 CRPF soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama, leading to a flare-up in tensions between India and Pakistan.

Soon after the development, External Affairs Minister of India Sushma Swaraj has said that there can be no dialogue with Pakistan unless they take action against ‘terror groups on its soil.’

Speaking at a conference in Delhi Swaraj said that if Pakistan’s PM Imran Khan is a statesman then he should hand over JeM chief Azhar to India.

“If he is so generous then he should hand over JeM (Jaish-e-Mohammed) chief Masood Azhar to India. Let’s see how generous he is.”
