Srinagar: Intense clashes have erupted near the gunfight site in Shopian district of south Kashmir on Friday.
Reports said that protesters hit the streets and pelted armed forces with stones in a bid to disrupt the anti-militant operation.
The forces used tear smoke shells and pellet fires to disperse the protesting youths.
Indian Army has said that a militant has been killed in the ongoing gunfight.
Reports added that the clashes, however, continued and spread to neighbouring Ratnipora and Banipora villages of the area.
