BJP’s Madhav lashes out at NC, PDP: ‘Mujahids who kill and rape, are they your workers’

Srinagar: National Secretary of the BJP Ram Madhav on Tuesday lashed out at both National Conference and PDP for referring their party members as ‘Mujahids’ and demanded that an FIR should be lodged against NC’s Akbar Lone for raising pro Pakistan slogans.

He also added that the BJP has asked the Election Commission of India (ECI) to hold the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir at the earliest.

“Both NC and PDP are happy in contesting the general elections while we have asked Election Commission to hold assembly elections in the state as early as possible,” he said.

“Such things bring out the real character of the regional parties here. One member raises pro-Pakistan slogans and says if anyone abuses Pakistan, he will be abuse them ten times. Another leader says that her party members are the real Mujahids of Kashmir,” Madhav said during a press conference in Srinagar.

He added, ” Are Mujahids your workers? The same Mujahids who kill a 12 year old boy. Those who forcefully enter homes and try to rape girls, are those Mujahids there workers? I would like to ask the leadership of the NC that are they in agreement with what Akbar Lone said?”

He added that regional parties of the valley are not in sync with the sentiments of the people here who want ‘peace and development and electoral rights. However the party leaders say Pakistan Zindabad.’

Recently, Mehbooba Mufti during a rally had said that her party workers are the ‘real Mujahideen’ of Kashmir. A couple of days later, General Secretary of the National Conference Al Mohammad Sagar had said that his party is the ‘Original Mujahideen Party’ of Kashmir.

While taking about the bans imposed on Jammat-e-Islami and the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Madhav said that after the curbs on them , ‘peace has returned to the valley’. He added that the regional parties are want the ban revoked, however that is not possible even in ‘dreams’.

” After our government imposed ban on those who are against peace in the valley, the regional parties are saying that if they come back to power, they will lift those bans. Let me tell you, that is not even possible in dreams,” Madhav said.

Commenting on the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, he said that after his party, BJP, pulled out of the coalition with PDP, the situation in Kashmir has improved. He said BJP’s stand on Article 370 and 35(A) continues to remain the same.

BJP’s pointman for Jammu and Kashmir, Madhav said that their party is no longer an outsider but a mainstream party in the state. “BJP is now a mainstream party even though our footprints are not huge but we are no longer an outsiders,” Madhav said.

He also critisised NC and PDP saying that they have resorted to means of separatism to woo and instigate people.

“We have urged authorities to register an FIR against Akbar Lone for raising anti India slogans,” Madhav said.
