‘Humbled by attention of PM Modi, NC always stood for restoration of terms of accession negotiated in 1947’

Srinagar: Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir (JK) and National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah has said that he does need other parties to support his speech where he called for restoration of Prime Minister and President for JK.

The statement comes after Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has asked Congress to reply over Omar Abdullah’s statement that the post of Prime Minister and President will be brought back to Kashmir.

During a rally in Telengana, Modi said that how come an ally of Congress dared to say something like this.

My party has always stood for the restoration of the terms of accession which Maharaja Hari Singh negotiated for J&K in 1947 & we have done so unashamedly.

Earlier, during a rally in Bandipora district, Omar had said that the post of Sadar-e-Riyasat (President) and Wazir-e-Azam (Prime Minister) will be brought back.

He also promised that the ‘highly misused’ Public Safety Act will go within days if National Conference comes to power.
