Let New Delhi abrogate Art 370, 35-A, it will pave way for our ‘Azadi’, says Abdullah

Srinagar: National Conference President Farooq Abdullah has said that if New Delhi wants to abrogate Article 370 and 35-A, let them do it and it will pave way for ‘our Azadi’.

“Do they (New Delhi) think that they will abrogate Article 370 and we will be quiet? They are wrong. We will fight against it. I think its Allah’s will that they are trying to abrogate it. Let them do it and it will pave way for our Azadi,” Abdullah said while addressing an election rally in Munawarabad area of Downtown Srinagar.

Earlier, BJP, in their manifesto, said that they are committed to abrogate both the Articles of the Indian Constitution.

The rightwing BJP said that the party reiterates its position since the time of Jan Sangh to abrogate both the articles. The manifesto also said that the party will work towards the return of Kashmiri Pandits to the valley.

“We reiterate our position since the time of the Jan Sangh to abrogation of Article 370. We are committed to annulling Article 35A of the Constitution of India as the provision is discriminatory against non-permanent residents and women of Jammu and Kashmir,” reads the manifesto.
