Amit Shah reiterates Article 370 will go if Modi becomes PM again

Amit Shah, President of the BJP once again reiterated that Article 370 which provides special status to Jammu and Kashmir will go if Narendra Modi will become Prime Minister again.

Addressing an election rally in Jharkhand, Shah said, “We will remove Article 370 if you make Narendra Modi the prime minister again.”

Shah said during the Congress-led UPA government, terror groups from Pakistan used to target India continuously.

“Jawans were beheaded by terrorists also, he said. “We cannot compromise with the security of the nation. Pakistan wants to separate Kashmir from India. We will not allow it.”

“Pakistan se goli aayegi to yahan se gola jayaga (if a bullet comes here, a shell lands there),” the BJP president said.

Launching a scathing attack on National conference leader Omar Abdullah for his remarks on having a separate prime minster for Kashmir, the BJP president said Kashmir is an inseparable part of India.

“Should there be two prime ministers for one country?” Shah asked the people.

Recently, Shah had said that till a single worker of the BJP is alive, Kashmir cannot be separated from India.

Recently, Shah has said that his party will ensure that National Register of Citizens of India (NRC) is implemented across India and ‘every single infiltrator will be removed from the country.’

He had added that all Buddhist and Hindu refugees will be identified and Indian nationality will be given to them.

Shah had said that after forming the Government in New Delhi, they will remove Article 370 of the Indian Constitution.

In February, Shah had said that the Modi Government brought in the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in order to prevent Assam from becoming another Kashmir.

Recently, Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that if the Citizen (Amendment) Bill 2016 is not passed, it will be a surrender to the ‘philosophy of Jinnah.

Sarma also added that the purpose of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) was to “detect Jinnahs”.

In the north-eastern state of Assam, India has published a list which strips four million people of their citizenship. It says the process is to root out hordes of illegal Bangladeshi migrants.

The list, named as the National Register of Citizens (NRC), is a list of people who can prove they came to the state by 24 March 1971, when Bangladesh was created.

The list has sparked fears of targeted hunting towards ethnic minorities in Assam. However, officials have said that no one will face immediate deportation and that the option of an appeal will be available to all.
