Kathua case: Omar calls for severe punishment to convicts, Mehbooba hopes loopholes in judiciary won’t be exploited

Srinagar: Former chief ministers of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti on Monday welcomed the verdict of the Pathankot court in Kathua gangrape-murder case.

While Abdullah called for severe punishment for the convicted, Mufti hoped that loopholes in judicial system would not be exploited.

Earlier, the lawyer of the victim’s family said that the victory belongs all the communities and added that they will ask for capital punishment to the convicts.
