Traffic cop ‘ruthlessly beaten’ by Army for allowing a civilian vehicle pass close to Army vehicle

Srinagar: A traffic cop was allegedly beaten up by the Army in Nowgam area of uptown Srinagar for allowing a civilian vehicle pass very close to an Army Caspir.

The cop, identified as Mudasir Ahmad, a resident of Balhama and was immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment.

Witnesses said that personnel of Army’s 22 RR beat Mudassir after he allowed a civilian vehicle to pass closer to Caspir stationed near Nowgam chowk.

A video of the cop bleeding has gone viral on social media. In the video a cop who is lying on the ground is surrounded by people who raise pro-freedom and pro- Zakir Musa slogans.
